Free To Run at the Trinity Triathlon: A Fundraising Clinic for Colin’s Hope

On Sunday, October 4, Free To Run will be at the Trinity Triathlon (officially the Trinity Youth & Family Triathlon) in Round Rock — and this one’s about more than running form. We’re using our booth, and a full fundraising running clinic, to support water safety in Central Texas through Colin’s Hope.

Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1–4 in the U.S. — CDC

That single statistic is why this event matters. Colin’s Hope works year-round to prevent child drowning through education, swim lesson scholarships, and water safety advocacy across Texas. This October, Free To Run is putting our clinic behind that mission.

A Trinity Triathlon Fundraising Clinic for Colin’s Hope

In addition to our booth presence at the Trinity Triathlon, Free To Run is hosting a dedicated running clinic as a fundraiser for Colin’s Hope. 50% of everything collected goes directly to Colin’s Hope.

What to Expect at the Free To Run Running Clinic

Free To Run coaches runners with the POSE Method, a technique-focused approach that emphasizes posture, timing, and efficient movement. Our clinics are all about learning good running form, whether you’re training for your first 5K, a triathlete looking to sharpen your run leg, or a parent who just wants to keep up with the kids.

Since 2009, we’ve coached more than 500 runners across Austin and Texas, and our clients have given us a 5.0 rating on Google. Now we’re putting that experience behind a cause that matters to families across Central Texas.

Why the Trinity Triathlon Is a Great Fit for Colin’s Hope

The Trinity Triathlon is built for young athletes and their families, which makes it a natural place to talk about water safety. Kids and parents who show up ready to swim, bike, and run are already thinking about staying active and safe in and around the water. Colin’s Hope funds swim lesson scholarships and drowning prevention education, so the mission and the event line up perfectly.

How to Join the Trinity Triathlon Fundraising Clinic

Getting involved is simple. Here’s how to take part:

  • Save the date for the Trinity Triathlon: Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Round Rock ISD Aquatic Center in Round Rock, Texas.
  • Reach out to Free To Run to reserve your spot in the fundraising clinic ahead of race day.
  • Stop by our booth on race day and say hello — we’d love to meet you and hear what you’re training for.

Half of everything collected at the clinic goes directly to Colin’s Hope, so every runner who joins helps fund swim lessons and water safety education for Central Texas kids.

Why We’re Doing This

Free To Run has spent nearly two decades helping Austin-area runners move better and stay injury-free. Water safety isn’t our usual lane — but it’s a cause that touches every family with young kids, and it’s an easy yes when a partner like Colin’s Hope is already doing the hard work on the ground. Running community and water safety community overlap more than you’d think: parents on the sidelines of a youth triathlon are exactly the audience that benefits most from hearing this message.

Come find us at the booth on race day, or join the clinic to support Colin’s Hope directly — every registration helps fund swim lesson scholarships and drowning prevention education across Central Texas.
